Nashville Public Library hosts Food for Fines

The Food for Fines drive will be held January 9-19 at each branch.  For every $1.00 in overdue fines will be waived for each canned good brought in.  all donations  will go the Second Harvest Food Bank.  They will be accepting: peanut butter (most needed), canned chicken or tuna, canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned soups, cereal and pasta.  The food drive does not include replacement fees for lost or damaged items, collection agency fees, card replacement fees and future overdue fines.  Additionally, no drop-offs are allowed, no glass containers, no open packages and no repackaed or expired products will be accepted.
