“Kids and Kites” at Bicentennial Mall
State Rep. Brenda Gilmore, Councilwoman Erica Gilmore and Fantasia in Red of the Red Hat Society hosted Kids and Kites in an effort to help fight childhood obesity as a part of the “Let’s Move” campaign that originated from the White House.
Although the winds were not very high on Saturday March 20th, many people joined in the park to rediscover the art of kite–making and kite–flying. But, not just flying kites, participants also brought hoola hoops, frisbies and a dj for dancing.
The park was filled with families and individuals of all races, nationalities, and ages as they were indulged in their own activities of a “beautiful day in the park.”
