Lena Ferrell was the star attraction as she celebrated her 95th birthday with family, and friends. She was asked how it feels to be 95 years old and she politely stated “I don’t know how it is supposed to feel, I’ve never been 95 before.”
When making comments to the visitors at the party, Lena recalled her time in Mt. Pleasant, TN.
She uplifted the singing of Helen who was the day care instructor, but Lena told everyone that she was her first cousin. She was a teacher “back in the day” which she recalled was one of the only professions saying, “What else was it to be but a teacher?”
She graduated high school, graduated college and pledged Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
Lena Ferrell is currently an active member of Clark Memorial United Methodist Church, where she continues to regularly attend.
