Joy Cooper signs National Letter of Intent

The Union University women’s golf program has inked Joy Cooper of Nashville for the Fall of 2013. Cooper was a student at Hume Fogg Academic High School, where she played golf for four years. Cooper led her team to the TSSAA District 9A-AA championship three of the four year; and coached Angela Hubbard.  In 2012, as a Senior, she posted a score of 76 and received the low medalist honor during the District Tournament. At the TSSAA Region 5A-AA Golf Championship, Cooper was the 3rd individual qualifier to advance to the state competition. At the TSSAA A-AA State Golf Championship, Cooper played well and finished in 25th place during the two-day competition working with Thelma Ewell, executive director of First Tee Nashville.
Joy developed her game as a participant of ‘The First Tee Nashville,’ where she is presently a program assistant and junior coach. Cooper plans to study business management at Union.
