Aaron Webb, an 11th grader at Hunter’s Lane High School, attended the 5th District meeting of Omega chapters throughout Tennessee and Kentucky.  This meeting held in Knoxville, TN last month (April 2013), was the site of a competition to recognize talented high school youth participating in the arts — giving them exposure, encouragement, and financial assistance. Aaron, a pianist, won third place in the district competition.

Earlier this year, February 24, 2013, he was the 1st Place winner of the Matthew Kennedy Talent Hunt Extravaganza competition, an annual event held by the Gamma Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. in Nashville, TN. Participants included singers, dancers, spoken word artists, a guitarist, and a pianist. At that competition, held at Fisk University Chapel, Aaron was awarded a cash prize by the fraternity; making him eligable to compete in Knoxville.

During the local talent hunt program, the winners of Gamma Phi’s annual Essay Contest were announced. Jordan Boyd from Merrol Hyde Magnet School in Hendersonville, TN won the 1st Place Award.
