Your Nashville Rollergirls are back and working harder than ever in the midst of a full six-game home season.  Saturday, June 15, the Nashville Rollergirls will host the Tallahassee Rollergirls at Municipal Auditorium in their third home game. The first bout starts at 5:30 pm with the Music City Brawl Stars facing off against the Tallahassee Jailbreak Betties. Immediately following the Brawl Star bout, the Music City All Stars will take on the Tallahassee Rollergirls Capital Punishment in a rematch of their 2010 meeting. Doors open at 4:30 pm.

“It ties together community, athleticism, strategy, and entertainment,” says June 2013 NRG Rollergirl of the Month Ammo Aimee. “I really can’t explain it; it just becomes a passionate addiction.” Come on out and cheer on your favorite Nashville Rollergirls to victory…“because it’s a whole bunch of fun,” says February 2013 Rollergirl of the Month Tear O’Bite.

Nashville Rollergirls or NRG, are a women’s flat-track roller derby league based in Nashville, Tennessee. The NRG are a member of the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA). The team was founded in 2006 and became the 55th member of the WFTDA in 2008. The NRG league is composed of two travel teams. The Music City All Stars are the premier travel team featuring the top skaters of the league, while the Music City Brawl Stars are the B-team showcasing up-and-coming skaters.

“It fulfills all kinds of criteria,’ says June 2013 NRG Rollergirl of the Month Rollergirl Dani Doom, “competitiveness, staying in shape, building relationships, learning, changing, developing myself, glory…”

The All-Stars are returning to their home track, after a hard-fought 170-141 victory over the D.C. Rollergirls on May 11 at Municipal Auditorium. That afternoon, the Music City Brawl Stars enjoyed a 262-139 win over the National Maulers.

“I originally did it to get in shape and make some friends. I do it now because I love the competitiveness and drive it has given me,” says May 2013 NRG Rollergirl of the Month Evil Mendes. “It pushes me to what I thought was my limit and then some.”

The season continues with more home bouts scheduled for July 13, July 27, and August 17. The July 27 doubleheader features the Columbia QuadSquad Rollergirl / Miss B-Havers vs the Music City Brawl Stars at 5:30 pm, and at 7:00 pm, the Columbia QuadSquad Rollergirl All Stars vs. the Music City All Stars. The regular home season closes out on August 17 with a 5:30 pm bout with the Cincinnati Rollergirls / Violent Lambs vs. the Music City Brawl Stars, and at 7:00 pm, the Cincinnati Rollergirls / Black Sheep vs. the Music City All Stars.
