Nashville Comic Expo blows into Opryland Hotel

Nashville welcomes another first-time convention Saturday and Sunday, September 14 and 15. The Opryland Hotel will host the inaugural Nashville Comic Expo, with sparkling guest stars from Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, and Nightmare on Elm Street and fun for fans of comic book culture and horror film and television.

Who could forget Freddie Krueger? Some readers probably still have nightmares about the character from the Elm Street film franchise. Robert Englund, after over 75 feature length films, four TV series and countless episodic guest star roles—the most recent being guest leads on Bones and Chuck, Englund is now directing as well as acting, and exploring the world of reality television and internet programming.

Game of Thrones has captivated the world. It is a global television phenomenon, and the next-to-last episode of the third season shocked the world last spring. Rory McCann plays a powerful warrior known as Sandor ‘The Hound’ Clegane, who has a soft spot for one of the show’s most feisty and endearing characters, tomboy Arya Stark.

Several guest comic art creators will be highlighted, such as Dennis Calero, Bob Camp, Clayton Crain, Tom Feister, Clay Mann, Pablo Marcos, Budd Root, Don Rosa, Andy Smith, J. David Spurlock, and Tim Townsend.
