Safe Haven Family Shelter celebrates expansion with ribbon-cutting ceremony

Safe Haven Family Shelter, middle Tennessee’s only homeless shelter that accepts the entire family held a ribbon-cutting ceremony with Mayor Karl Dean on Aug. 27 to celebrate the facility’s recently completed renovation and expansion project. The shelter’s renovations include 10 family rooms with designated spaces for children’s play, teen activities, tutoring, homework and study, computer usage and classes, and therapy, as well as multifunctional spaces for a variety of activities engaging families and volunteers.
