Star Wars in 60 Minutes or Less is making its Nashville debut at Bongo After Hours Theatre on Sunday, November 24 at 7 pm. The show is a celebration and parody of everyone’s favorite, original space trilogy. Using only five actors and low-budget props, the cast runs through the story of Luke, Leia, Han and Vader in less than 60 minutes.
This Nashville appearance was a last minute idea of the cast to celebrate the Star Wars auditions being held that day in Nashville.
“Two of our actors were going down to audition and we thought ‘We should perform our show that night!’” explains J.P. Lebangood, a cast member. “Amazingly, the great folks at Bongo After Hours Theatre made our lack of impulse control a reality.”
Star Wars in 60 Minutes or Less is fast-paced piece of madness, combining scripted and improvised comedy with audience participation. The show has been running for close to three years, playing to full capacity audiences in Louisville and conventions such as Fandom Fest, while garnering great reviews, including a devoted fan in Timothy Zahn, the Hugo Award winning author of the Star Wars Extended Universe Thrawn Trilogy.
Bongo After Hours Theatre is Nashville’s most intimate venue at 2007 Belmont Blvd. Nashville, Tenn. 37212. The space has featured nationally known musicians such as Steve Earle as well as theatre, comedy and dance shows. You can visit them online at bongojava.com/bongo-java/theater
