Operation Stand Down Nashville (OSDN) was the winner of the Cloud Giveaway, a contest conducted to benefit one Nashville non-profit with $200,000 in technology services and support. The announcement was made by Josh Cantrell, marketing director of Nashville technology company Claris Networks. Operation Stand Down Nashville is located at 1125 12th Avenue South, Nashville, Tenn. 37203.
Operation Stand Down Nashville, a nonprofit that assists veterans and their families so they can be self-sustaining and better connected with their community, won the prize by receiving a majority of the votes placed by members of the community. The technology upgrade will significantly affect the organization’s ability to serve Nashville’s Veterans.
“We are thrilled to partner with Operation Stand Down Nashville,” said Larry Bodie, CEO of Claris Networks. “They run that organization with the highest degree of excellence, and it’s easy to see how it has influenced the veteran community profoundly.” Bodie also mentioned that this tech upgrade will provide the 35-person non-profit with the same technology infrastructure and support as companies with hundreds of people.
This is the third year Claris Networks has held the contest, but the first time it has been focused on the Nashville community. The other finalists for the contest were Bridges for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Fannie Battle Day Home for Children, Graceworks Ministries, Hands On Nashville, Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee, McNeilly Center for Children, Rocketown, Safe Haven Family Shelter, and Soles for Souls.
