Nashville Fashion Week announces eight ‘city showcase’ designers for opening night

On April 1st, Nashville Fashion Week kicks off its runway shows at The Rosewall with eight designers hailing from cities across the country. Fashion Week is a city-wide celebration of Nashville’s thriving fashion and retail community and its vast array of creative talent. It features local, regional, and national design talent in fashion events and shows and encourages Nashvillians, as well as visitors, to explore the city’s diverse fashion/retail spaces throughout the week with promotions, partnerships, and educational workshops.

The designers that will present their collections on opening night include Elizabeth Suzann from Nashville, TN; Poni Silver of Black by Maria Silver from Nashville, TN; Lagi Nadeau from Chicago, IL, who will be representing the Chicago Fashion Incubator Program; Laura Kathleen from St. Louis, MO presented in partnership with St. Louis Fashion Week; Shea Steele from New York, NY; Truly Alvarenga of Pink Elephants Designs from Hanover, NH; Brooke Atwood from Savannah, GA and is presented in partnership with Savannah Fashion Week; and Abi Ferrin from Dallas, TX. Alot of these designers have displayed collections in previous Nashville Fashion Week shows.

The proceeds of Nashville Fashion Week go to The Nashville Fashion Forward Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle TN. The NFFF is to ensure that Nashville Fashion Week is an ongoing, sustainable focus for philanthropic support, not just a high profile celebration of diverse creativity.

They all have unique styles and influences from Japanese Horror to designs that are made as functional as well as beautiful.
