Benneth Wilson, a local artist, has had his work displayed during a recent telecast of the CBS television hit show, NCIS: Los Angeles. The episode entitled ‘Zero Days’ was the 18th of the show’s current fifth season. It appeared March 25. The popular show starring LL Cool J was recently renewed for a sixth season. It aired on WTVF Newschannel 5. If you missed it, you can catch the episode free of charge on the CBS website at

“We did use one of Benneth’s images on a skateboard in one of the lead actor’s apartments,” said Melissa Arcaro of the CBS Art Department, “and NCIS:LA Set Dec are fans of his work. [Set Dec stands for Set Decoration department.] So be on the lookout when the characters are in their home apartments.”

The artwork in the show comes from a series of works by Wilson. The Nossi College alumnus says the name of the series is ‘Rolling on 22’s.’ About the piece, Wilson says: “Cars are like animals—big and tough, fast and sleek, compact and efficient. And we all like to cruise: Rolling on 22’s.”

“Art is life and life is art,” said Wilson. “Where there is life, there is art. I began my love for art by watching my older sister draw in my kindergarten drawing pads and trying to copy her. I would spend hours drawing and would beg my mother for money to buy drawing pads from the corner store. From there I took art classes all throughout my school years. I joined the military in 1980, but never lost the love for art, painting and drawing when I got the time. After my service I decided to try the art world, putting my art in galleries around Nashville, Tennessee. I won the ‘T-Shirt and Poster’ contest at the Summer Lights Music Festival and have sold my work to businesses and art collectors.”

According to an Internet fan site, in the episode ‘Zero Days,’ the NCIS: LA team is called in to determine if the computer system that controls Russian missiles is at risk after Eric overhears his friend, a computer systems expert, being attacked during online game play. Meanwhile, Kensi is shocked when a familiar face from her past shows up in Afghanistan.

Series regulars Chris O’Donnell (NCIS Special Agent G. Callen), LL COOL J (NCIS Special Agent Sam Hanna), Linda Hunt (Henrietta ‘Hetty’ Lange), Daniela Ruah (NCIS Special Agent Kensi Blye), Eric Christian Olsen (LAPD Detective Marty Deeks), Barrett Foa (Tech Operator Eric Beale), Renée Felice Smith (NCIS Intelligence Analyst Nell Jones), and Miguel Ferrer (NCIS Assistant Director Owen Granger) are joined by guest cast Matthew Del Negro (Jack Simon), Tate Ellington (Ira Wells), Jim Holmes (Lance Witten), Jack Topalian (Boris), Ali Olomi (Insurgent), Jeronimo Spinx (NCIS Agent Thompson), and Natalie Britton (Receptionist).
