Nashville on Stage:
Aladdin continues at Encore Theatre Company
Sisters plays at the Looby Theatre

A richly imaginative version of the Arabian fantasy Aladdin is playing now through April 6 at the Encore Theatre in nearby Mt. Juliet, Tenn. Romance, mystery, and more fun than a magic carpet ride, that’s what audiences will discover in this version of the story of Aladdin (written by Craig Sodaro)—classic with a modern twist.

Romance, mystery and more fun than a magic carpet ride are found here as director Misty Embry puts her inventive touch on the story of Aladdin. (This is NOT Disney’s musical adaptation—this version is more fun).

Meet the colorful characters including Yahoo (Mikalyn Caudill) and his pet snake (Hope Sloan) who serve as narrators; the evil magician, El Kahsid (Jerry England); the beautiful Princess Celestia (Emma Brown); the spoiled, obnoxious Gorgan (Kendall Rowe) who wants to marry the princess; the lamp (Michael Rex) and ring (Karen Yates) Genies and their “wish-granting associates”; the poetic cave creeps (Delaney Eaves, Aimee Barney); and finally, Aladdin himself (Grace Sloan), who starts out as a lazy insolent boy but proves himself to be a prince. Sloan plays Aladdin with flair and sparkle. Everybody will love Craig Sodaro’s funny and quirky adaptation of Aladdin.

Aladdin continues at Encore now through April 6. Curtain times include: Saturdays (7:30 pm) and Sundays (2:30 pm). Ticket prices are $15, adults; $12 seniors (60+); $10 (12 & under). Tickets are on sale now by calling 598-8950 or visiting the website at and at
