Nashville Mayor Karl Dean recently rode a Route 18 bus to Nashville International Airport as part of Mayor on Board, an initiative to highlight the convenience of using Nashville MTA as a transportation option. He was joined by Ed Oliphant, interim MTA CEO, and Rob Wigington, president/CEO of the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority.
Mayor Dean is traveling on business to Atlanta to speak at the Conference on Volunteering and Service.
“This route is a great, hassle-free way to get to the airport,” Mayor Dean said. “The bus schedule for airport passengers makes it easy for visitors to have quick, simple access to downtown hotels and the new Music City Center convention center. MTA’s service to and from BNA helps promote our city’s tourism and economy, and it gives Middle Tennesseans an affordable transportation option to the airport.”
All residents and visitors can save time and money this summer by riding a Route 18 Airport/Downtown Hotels bus to and from the airport. This route is a convenient and low-cost alternative to driving and parking at the airport.
Hourly express bus service to and from Nashville International Airport and major downtown hotels is available for only $1.70 or less each way. The airport bus stop is located on Level 1 within the Ground Transportation area. Buses designated for the airport have been fitted with luggage bins to accommodate travelers.
To catch a bus from downtown, simply board at Bay 13 on the lower level of Music City Central (MCC), which is located at 400 Charlotte Ave., or at stops near Music City Center, Omni Hotel, Renaissance Hotel, Courtyard Marriott, Hilton Hotel, Airport Marriott or any other stops along the route. Then, enjoy a relaxing ride. For the return trip, passengers can catch the bus back to MCC at this location.
