As Nashville prepares to welcome its own sci-fi and comic conventions in the fall, including the return of the Wizard World Nashville Comic Con September 26-28 and our own home-grown multi-genre con GMX, the Geek Media Expo, volume six, on October 24-26, there are plenty of other cool conventions going on around the continent this summer.

The biggest of all is in San Diego the weekend of July 24-27 as Comic-Con International grips the fandom community in its annual thrall. Toronto is hosting Canada’s huge FanExpo, celebrating its 20th anniversary August 28-31 (the third biggest on the continent), and it’s the same Labor Day weekend as the place to be is Atlanta for Dragon Con (second biggest). The good folks in Louisville, Ky. will bring us another fantastic weekend of fun called FandomFest August 1-3. The place to be in Chicago, Ill. is the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con August 21-24. Both events offer VIP Experience tickets for getting up-close and personal with your favorite star(s).
