The lawn across from the Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church was filled with hundreds of guests who celebrated Pastor’s Appreciation Day for Rev. Enoch Fuzz on Sunday, September 28.
The theme, ‘The Best Pastor in the Whole Wide World,’ served for Pastor Appreciation Day and Rev. Fuzz’s birthday.
The day began with s special 11 am worship service with Marc Overlock, general counsel, Metro General Hospital at Meharry, presiding over the service.
His daughter, Bethani Fuzz, escorted Pastor Fuzz into the sanctuary. The Inspirational Choir of Corinthian carried out the service with high-spirited praise dancing and songs. A special presentation was made by Music City Gold Record to Dr. Marquetta Faulkner, dean and the Meharry School of Medicine by Bob Poole.
An added special touch to the day celebrating the pastor and his birthday came as his mother, Savannah Fuzz, traveled from Memphis to be with the Corinthian family and her baby boy, ‘Fuzz.’
The sermon for the morning service was delivered by Rev. Lawrence Cole of Unity Baptist Church, Collierville, Tenn.
“We are truly thankful for the Christ-like spirit that was shown throughout this special day,” said Hattie Black, president of the Pastor’s Aid. “We want to thank our guests, friends and Corinthian church family for their support.” The service ended and the pastor’s aid met the community across the street for an outdoor birthday celebration.
A plethora of friends, community leaders and elected officials were served from a hot dog bar complete with all the condiments, cheese, and pickles, and drink—followed by birthday cake and ice cream.
