Dr. Joseph Webb, chief executive officer of Nashville General Hospital (NGH) is taking a fresh approach to how NGH can better serve the community. Dr. Webb will hold a series of four community town halls over the next few months as part of his strategic planning process for the City’s community hospital. Located on the Meharry Medical College campus, NGH serves all residents of Nashville and Davidson County. The community locations for the four upcoming town hall events were selected based on top patient zip codes, i.e. where most of the individuals served by NGH actually live.
These community-focused events are completely open to the public by design to allow residents to come and ask any questions they may have about NGH, share their concerns, and talk freely and openly about what they see as the health challenges in their community. The dialogue generated from these town halls will be analyzed and used to help shape the plans and vision for Nashville General Hospital through the newly appointed leader and CEO, Dr.Joseph Webb.
“These community forums are only the beginning. It’s important for me to get to know the community and for the community to get to know me and Nashville General Hospital,” Webb said. “It is vital for us to connect with our community and especially those we serve. Patient care starts in the community and in order for the hospital to be strong, our community must be strong. ”
The Metropolitan Nashville Hospital Authority (MNHA) Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Joseph Webb as chief executive officer of Nashville General Hospital (NGH) effective January 5, 2015.
“Joseph brings extensive healthcare experience, a strong commitment to operational excellence and a dedicated focus on delivering high-quality patient care,” said Mary Bufwack, Ph.D., chairman of the Metropolitan Nashville Hospital Authority in announcing the appointment. “The Hospital Authority is excited to work with Joseph. His knowledge and innovative leadership style will strengthen the hospital’s culture and service to the community.”
