Peter Max, one of the most famous of all living artists in the world, is also a pop culture icon. His bold colors, uplifting images, and an uncommon artistic diversity have touched almost every phase of American culture, inspiring many generations. Peter Max has painted for six U.S. Presidents and his art is on display in Presidential Libraries and in U.S. Embassies. Max has painted our Lady Liberty annually since America’s Bicentennial.

Max was named an official artist of the 2006 U.S. Olympic Team at the Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy. He has also been Official Artist of five Super Bowls, World Cup USA, The World Series, The U.S. Open, The Indy 500, The NYC Marathon and The Kentucky Derby. Abrams Books has published one of the best-selling art books ever: The Art Of Peter Max.

Max art pops up everywhere. His art has flown the skies on a Continental Airlines Boeing 777. His art installations have included an amazing 600-ft stage for the Woodstock Music Festival, a giant mural for the Winter Olympics, and 10 ft. guitars for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

A never-before-seen collection from art legend Peter Max will be on exhibit and available for acquisition during a presentation at Nashville’s newest art gallery, Music City Fine Art, located in downtown Nashville on the 5th Avenue of the Arts. The carefully curated collection is a museum-like retrospective of Max’s works and will also include new art depicting Nashville’s musical heritage.

Max has assembled a collection of his greatest and most-revered imagery spanning four decades. From his iconic pop art designs commemorating Woodstock and his iconic ‘Liberty Head’ series to the new exquisite ‘Marilyn’ series, Max’s new exhibit speaks to the evolution of America’s most popular living artist.
Max’s Art Students League scholarly influence inspired all of his extraordinary artwork, and of late, his new

Masters series. Interpretive works of Vincent Van Gogh, Monet, Pablo Picasso, Renoir, and Edgar Degas, all conceived in Max’s signature style and colors, these works showcase both a maturation of the artist’s illustrious career, and his formidable training at the 130 year old Art Students League of New York.
With paintings on exhibition in hundreds of museums and galleries worldwide, Peter Max and his vibrant colors have become part of the fabric of contemporary culture. Max has been successively called a pop icon, Neo-Fauvist, Abstract Expressionist and the United States’ ‘Painter Laureate.’

The artist has had the distinct honor of painting the last seven presidents of the United States and the world’s most loved celebrities, among them country/pop music sensation Taylor Swift.

These appearances are complimentary (with RSVP) and open to the public, with previews beginning Saturday, May 9. RSVP (required) at 931-313-9613, or visit for more information.
