The community will gather at Whites Creek Comprehensive High School, 7277 Old Hickory Blvd., for the inaugural Spring Fling on Saturday, May 30.

The New North Nashville Next (N4Movement) will be presenting an all day event beginning at 7 am. Activities will consist of a 5K Walk/Run, Health & Wellness Expo, a hip hop dance competition, recognitions and awards and an ‘old school’ basketball game, vendors and much more.

This organization has a special mission: “to stimulate growth and opportunities that will help revitalize our local community,” according to a mission statement.

Also it says their desire is “to partner with city government entrepreneurs” and promote “commutes to realign North Nashville’s real potential whereby true quality of life can be experienced so that all citizens can prosper.”

“We are excited about this event,” said Catherine Bowers, committee member and coordinator.

“We are inviting not only the community, but all of the public to this family event in order to bring awareness to the plight of north Nashville with respect to the evolving growth of Nashville.”

The Spring Fling is a free family event for all ages that will bring awareness to this area by offering activities.

“We look forward to having great fun in addition to beginning relationships with the immediate and surrounding community,” said the statement.
