‘Embracing Our Set Time’ was the theme in celebration of Bishop George O. and Dr. Jennifer W. Adebanjo’s 29th annual Pastoral Anniversary.

Members, friends, community officials, and brothers and sisters in the ministry all gathered for this occasion on July 26 to honor this international ministry.

The special guest speaker, Superintendent Vernal S. Sweeting, delivered relevant words to the theme, ‘Embracing Our Set Time.’ He made reference to the well-known toy trucks, Tonka, as he said: “I was built for this.”

“Where I sow makes a difference,” Sweeting said. “I’m careful about sowing because when you are blessed, the people connected to you are blessed.”

Thus, he sows into the ministry of Dr. Adebanjo because he is “good ground.” Because of Adebanjo’s ministry that reaches around the world, he must be “built for this.”

Pastor Sweeting is also the proud founder and pastor of the New Destiny Christian Fellowship Church of God in Christ and the pastor of Rehoboth Outreach Ministries, in addition to being the superintendent of the G.E. Patterson District in the Tennessee Eastern 2nd Jurisdiction.

The Living Word ministry has seen significant components of their vision unfolding.

“We have experienced numerical and spiritual growth. We have witnessed afresh and anew the awesome saving, healing and delivering power of the Lord. We have been blessed to evangelize in West and South Africa,” according to the ministerial group.

The ministry has also initiated an annual Eagles’ conference and monthly Eagles’ Revival service under the inspiration and direction of the Lord.
“The Lord says: ‘It is time for His people too reflect the characteristics of an eagle,’” said Bishop Adebanjo. “Therefore, both the conference and revivals have been designed to instruct, inspire and empower God’s people to answer this eagles’ call.”

Other portions of the program included: a ‘Minstrel’s Tribute’ by the Living Word International Church Choir; special ‘letters of congratulations’ from pastors, mayors and governors, read by evangelist Deborah Neal; an instrumental tribute, “To God Be The Glory,” by Sister Elithea Allen; special video presentation, ‘Serving God’s People for 29 Years’; and a dance tribute by The Living Word International Church Liturgical Dancers.

Elder Lee Hall-Perkins, ‘campus ministry pastor’ of the Living Word and Cheryl Harleston, chief of staff at the Living Word, served as the master and mistress of ceremonies. The Living Word International Church is located at 5100 Wyoming Avenue in Nashville, Tenn.
