Kimberly Marquez Watts, a native Nashvillian, was elected National President of Circle-Lets, Inc., at the organization’s National Conclave in Boston on July 17. Circle-Lets, Inc. is a national social organization whose basic tenet is friendship. The Circle-Lets motto is “To so live that my friends are made happier.” The organization, founded in 1955 by two Fisk University graduates, provides a social outlet and a sisterly relationship among women with similar ideals, interests and goals. Today, the organization has chapters in 21 major cities around the country. In 2012, the Nashville Chapter celebrated 50 years “In the Circle,” honoring two founding members, Vesta Wheaton and Ruth Martin. Simone Sheats is currently President of the Nashville Chapter.

The theme of the Boston Conclave was “Fantastic Voyage” and the Boston Chapter wined and dined the Circle-Lets in grand style. The Welcome Reception on Thursday, July 16 beckoned Circle-Lets on a “voyage” of delightful cocktails, delectable hors d’oeuvres, and dancing in the stellar ballroom and courtyard of the Boston Quincy Marriott Hotel. The Friday luncheon included a lovely fashion show, and the evening provided a “restaurant round” in the heart of Boston, including the award-winning restaurant Top of the Hub soaring 52 floors above the bay, offering cuisine, service and ambiance of comfortable sophistication, blended with the serenity of Boston’s best skyline views. The Saturday night cocktail reception and dinner affair provided opportunities for Circle-Lets and their Circle-Mates to wine, dine, and rekindle friendships while dancing the night away! Members bid adieu at the farewell breakfast on Sunday, until next year’s National Conclave in Chicago.

Kimberly has been a member of Circle-Lets for twenty-two (22) years and has served in various positions under the leadership of five (5) former National Presidents.
Kimberly expressed, “Having served on the National level over the past 10 years, I have a clear vision for the organization and I am honored to take the helm and lead Circle-Lets into the future.” Arnetta Hamilton and Yolanda Henderson are members of the Executive Board of Circle-Lets.

Kimberly is a Realtor and owner of Marquez Properties, LLC. She was formerly Senior Director of Human Resources and Administration for Nashville Public Tele-vision.
