Luenell Campbell

Luenell Campbell (known as Luenell) is an American comedian and actress. Hailing from the small town of Tollette, Arkansas, but raised in Northern California, Luenell now resides in Los Angeles. This lady has become a force of nature and delivers comedy to die for.

In the early 1990s Luenell appeared regularly on Soul Beat TV in Oakland, California, along with prominent Bay Area African American journalist Chauncey Bailey, an interview and talk show host on the program. Luenell’s two-year tour and DVD appearances in Katt Williams’ ‘American Hustle’ created an almost cult-like following. In 2012, this comedy demolition machine made appearances in three number one feature films: Think Like A Man, Hotel Transylvania and Taken 2. She also co-starred in the comedy That’s My Boy with Adam Sandler. Luenell has a quite lengthy list of television appearances also, including episodes of The Middle and It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia. Stand-up appearances as well include: Snoop Dog’s Bad Girls of Comedy on Showtime and Stand-up In Stilettos on the TV Guide Network.

This talented comedienne, actress and singer is living her dream. Her reputation as a comic superstar continues to flourish. Regarded as one of the top 25 funniest people in LA, Luenell’s life is definitely back on track. A few years ago, not long after the birth of her daughter, Luenell would get a rude awakening. She was sentenced to a year in jail for a series of indiscretions while working at a bank. It played out like an episode of Lil’ Kim on Court TV. She eventually served just over four months.

These days, her star continues to rise due to appearances in television, film and music videos. With such an intriguing past, apparently life is the reason she’s so funny. Best known for her breakthrough role as the “hooker with the heart of gold” in the blockbuster comedy of Borat, Luenell is recognized by both mainstream and urban sectors of the population. The accolades continue to roll. If you’re interested in almost dying due to laughter, make sure you pull up this Sunday night at Zanies. Luenell will be in the building.
