The National College Gospel Choir Competition features Tennessee choirs

The National College Gospel Choir Competition will show up and show out in Louisville on April 8 and 9 at the Cannan Church. Dr. Walter Malone, Jr. is the senior pastor/founder and Sandra F. Malone is the first lady.

Among the 10 college choirs featured are two of Tennessee’s own, including: Tennessee State University and the University of Memphis. The other choirs on the bill are the University of Louisville, the University of Mississippi, Northern Kentucky University and Western Kentucky University, Syracuse University, Virginia State, Alcorn State University and Kent State University.

This promises to be an amazing two nights as the best and the brightness college choirs will showcase their talents and compete for almost $30,000 in cash prizes.

Stellar event planner and founder/CEO of the Power to Exhale movement, Charla Young, is the coordinator behind this blessed force of gospel music, and community education.

‘Power to Exhale’ (P2E) is an organization of non-judgmental women who do not believe in drama and negativity. Women are empowered to do what is most important: take time for them. P2E does not see ‘class.’ They do not care how much money you make or what your title is. They care about you. There is an online support community, and three retreats a year are offered to help members to ‘exhale and breathe.’ In addition to that, the ladies get together monthly to celebrate their successes and just have fun. Membership is now free of charge and interested (future) members are encouraged to check out the all inclusive P2E website, and join us to stamp out DNA (Demeaning Negative Attitudes) across the country.
