Collectors and shoppers who love ‘the unique,’ will enjoy ‘A Gathering: Hidden Treasures/Fond Memories!’ at Venue 109, 109 Cude Lane in Goodlettsville, Tenn. on Saturday, April 9, from 11 am-3 pm.

Participants will enjoy a workshop and activities including: door prizes, a silent auction, appraisals, lunch with Chef David Owens and shopping with several retail vendors.

The workshop will be led by the feature guest, LaCheryl Cillie, appraiser, estate sales conductor, author, auctioneer (AL5017) and ‘thrift-style expert.’

Ticketholders will learn more about family heirlooms by bringing one item for a general appraisal, tips for bidding successfully at auctions, what to throw out and what to keep when spring cleaning and how to use consignment stores, auctions, and eBay to make money by selling your finds—and why spring is the best time for ‘thrifting.’

Tea Cups & Jewels, A Collector’s Shop, the primary host of A Gathering HTFM, is a unique little shop that is more than a gift shop. TCJ has unique items that are new and some items that are vintage. Shoppers browse and enjoy reliving memories through past magazines, books and cards as well as other items such as ‘what-knots,’ pictures, dishes and a plethora of other items. Shoppers often request the owner, Geraldine Heath, to ‘keep an eye out’ for particular ‘collectible’ items.

TCJ specializes in authentic, beautiful, unique gifting that is more than a ‘gift basket!’ Each gift presentation is representative of the person requested. Every recipient expresses great adoration for the ‘gift of love.’

A Gathering HTFM will have several vendors such as local Nashville authors. (Some authors will be on hand to autograph purchased copies.)

Other participating vendors include: William Young Computer Consultants, The Rev’s Denim, Josie’s Tea, Phase One, Eastwood Buy & Sell Coins, and Pink Glitter Thrift Store and more.

Tea Cups & Jewels, A Collector’s Shop is located at 3803 Hydes Ferry Road in Nashville, Tenn.

It’s a growing trend in the second-hand market, which is ‘soaring to new heights.’ More people are looking to find unique clothing styles, shoes, and jewelry along with specialty furniture and other unique items.
LaCheryl Cillie reveals: “How to score big at thrift stores, auctions and estate sales” to get those great ‘finds.’

She will be the featured guest to lead a workshop on April 9 at ‘A Gathering: Hidden Treasures/Fond Memories’ from 11 am-3 pm. Ticketholders may also be allowed a general appraisal of one item that they may bring to the event.
Over the course of her career as a second-hand shopping expert, Cillie has helped to identify amazing finds such as a diamond ring for $2 and a painting by the late John F. Kennedy that sold for thousands of dollars at an auction. She shares her insider tips for making similar finds and is said to be a ‘mentor of the masses.’

Cillie notes that spring is a great time for ‘thrifting,’ and this event, ‘A Gathering Hidden Treasures/Fond Memories,’ is a being held at a great time to share why this information is important—sharing information on the reason spring is a good time for thrifting, tips for bidding successfully at auctions, what to throw out and what to keep when spring cleaning, and how to use consignment stores, auctions, and eBay to make money by selling your finds.

LaCheryl Cillie is a thrift expert, an author, an estate sales conductor and auctioneer (#5107AL) who has been featured on radio talk shows around the United States, Canada and the Bahamas.
