Forty-one-year old actor, writer, dancer, rapper, comedian and music producer, Affion Crockett, is coming to town. He’ll be at Zanies through the weekend beginning Thursday evening. His stint will come to a close on Sunday night.
Crockett has appeared in many films and television shows. He even got a shot at his own TV sketch comedy show on Fox in 2011. The series was short lived due to low ratings. Affion resides in Los Angeles, California. In addition to his screen time, he is heavily involved in his production company, Lejan Entertainment, Inc.
Crockett was raised in Germany and Fayetteville, North Carolina. At age 10, he began entering and winning breaking and popping contests with his older brother. Later, he honed his impression skills by imitating anyone from his mother’s West Indian dialect to his school teacher’s southern drawl to Scarface’s choppy Cuban accent. His YouTube videos have become an Internet sensation.
In 1996, Affion was introduced to the world on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, demonstrating his crystal clear impressions and physical comedy—for which he was labeled the next Jim Carrey. When he decides to become all of these characters, Affion Crockett is one of the most versatile entertainers around. He was the break out star on MTV’s Wild’ n Out and Short Circuitz with Nick Cannon. The accomplished actor starred on Curb Your Enthusiasm and Cedric The Entertainer’s Show as well. Affion released his first comedy rap album in 2012 titled Watch The Clone, with spoofs of popular artists like Jay-Z, Kanye, Eminem and 2 Chainz.
