It’s time to block off those special Sundays this fall, as you peruse the newly released Fall 2016 football schedule of our hometown NFL team the Tennessee Titans. In the mix are a late afternoon California road game, a late night Thursday home game, and a Saturday game in Florida on Christmas Eve.

First there’s the preseason. It starts with two Saturday home games and ends with two road games. The AFC West San Diego Chargers visit Nissan Stadium on August 13 at 7:00 pm. The next week Cam Newton and the defending NFC Champion Carolina Panthers take on the Titans there at 2:00 in the afternoon. The Titans visit the Raiders and the Miami Dolphins over the following two weeks. Watch the Raiders game on CBS/WTVF and the other three on WKRN. The Titans will face three of the four teams they play in the preseason later during the regular season.

The Titans host the NFC North Minnesota Vikings to open the season at Noon on September 11; that game is on FOX. They visit the Detroit Lions the next week for the second of four tilts against the teams in the NFC North division. They host the Raiders the following week, the first of four tilts against the teams in the AFC West division. The Titans visit their AFC South rival Houston Texans on October 2, then the AFC East Miami Dolphins on October 9. Unless otherwise noted, all games are on Sundays, at Noon, carried on CBS/WTVF.

A three-game home stand welcomes the AFC North Cleveland Browns on October 16, AFC South rival Indianapolis Colts on October 23, and after a short week, the AFC South rival Jacksonville Jaguars come into Nissan Stadium on Thursday, October 27 at 7:25 pm. That Thursday night game will be carried nationwide on the NFL Network, and on one of the local broadcast channels, as well.

November 6, the Titans visit the AFC West San Diego Chargers. After that, they then return home to host the NFC North Green Bay Packers on November 13; that game will be carried live on FOX. Two road games then follow, first at the AFC South rival Indianapolis Colts on November 20, and then at the NFC North Chicago Bears on November 27.

The NFL champion Denver Broncos of the AFC West visit Nissan Stadium on December 11. Next the Titans travel to play the AFC West Kansas City Chiefs on December 18 and the AFC South rival Jacksonville Jaguars for Christmas Eve, Saturday December 24. The Titans will close out the 2016 season campaign on New Year’s Day 2017 at home against their AFC South rival Houston Texans.
