The recent Volunteer Mass Choir Spring Concert was held at New Hope Baptist Church. Senior Pastor and esteemed Sheppard of the house, Pastor James Turner, II. It should have been titled: “Spring Concert – Gospel Explosion” because that is what took place. A few adjustments were made the original scheduled event, but no one seemed to mind and as the kids often say: it was all good.

The beautiful summer evening accommodated a packed house and hosted some of the most talented voices that God has unleashed. It kicked off with, a call to worship by Pastor Turner, II, Brother Ronnie Patterson along with Ambassador/Dr. Bobby Jones Nashville Super Choir members, lead a rocking Praise and Worship.

ENT (Ear Nose Throat) Specialist, Dr. Mark Williams filled in for Lady Connie Dennell aka “The Gospel DIVA” 92.1 FM Radio Nashville, as she had become ill before the event. Thankfully she is much better now and back on point. Dr. Mark was a natural and not only did he do a fantastic job as Masters of Ceremonies, he shared his amazing vocal talents with the crowded church as well. The Marvelous Music Ministry of the Volunteer Mass Choir stirred souls and warmed hearts throughout the church sanctuary. Many other Gospel greats were in the house such as Nashville’s own “Red DIVA” Keesha Rainey and Sir Everette Drake (Amen Goes Right There). Mr. Drake is also a part of Ambassador/Dr Bobby Jones Gospel Music and Television team.

He graced the audience with none other than a sensational performance. Special thanks to the beautiful Elks daughters IBPOW Chapter (Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elks of the World) Spencer Jackson Temple #763, for graciously ushering, meeting and greeting guests and attendee’s throughout the evening. An offertory appeal was made by Bishop Alvin Miller, Spiritual Advisor of V.S.M.C. Judah Temple of Praise Choir ministered in music and the fine tuned music ministry of “Marty B. “was introduced. Needless to say, the young 24 year old man of God showed up and showed out for Christ! Special musical guest Minister Cedric Sesley & Our For Souls did more of the same: “showing up and out for God.” Photography ministry assistance was provided by Lady Cheryl “Top DIVA” Woodard.
