The Davidson County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) has the most diverse workforce within Metro Government when it comes to both race and gender. DCSO ranks first in the percentage of female employees, ahead of all other large departments. DCSO also ranks first in the percentage of ethnically diverse employees.*
“Having a diverse workforce is not something that we recently started working on”, says Sheriff Daron Hall. “Diversity is in our mission statement, and we strive every day to recruit and retain employees who represent Nashville’s demographics. My hope is that we can become an example for other employers in our city.”
The Diversity Advisory Committee (DAC) was formed by Mayor Karl F. Dean in January 2015. Statistics for all departments within Metro are compiled and published on a quarterly basis. Results from the most recent study are below and full results for all Metro departments can be found at:http://www.nashville.gov /Human-Resources/ Workforce-Demographics.aspx.
