As always, Dr. Katherine Y. Brown is on the move, doing and bringing great things to the community of Nashville. A recent interview with the master educator revealed some amazing updates and great news.
The Dr. Katherine Y. Brown Leadership Academy is soaring above the clouds, literally and figuratively. The academy named after Brown, a nationally recognized community leader and empowerment personality who is passionate about mentorship, leadership development and civic engagement, focuses on four core modules and offers extensive leadership training in addition to service projects with the Roberta Baines Wheeler Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Group and exposure to international civic engagement.
Who are these impacting leaders? The inaugural class includes: Sydney Y. K. Brown, Morgan Harvell, Ashley Mimms, Taylor Northington, Josephine Onyeme, Jewell Windrow, and Ashlee Young. These leaders celebrated an amazing day above the proverbial clouds.
On another note, Dr. Brown’s son, Robert, celebrated his eighth birthday. He is a product of trusted distinctive education and core values.
Master Robert D. Brown is the son of Irving and Dr. Katherine Brown. Robert enjoys public speaking. Last year he recited the poem ‘I am Somebody’ for Mayor Megan Barry at the Millennium Maxwell Hotel. On September 7, he celebrated his eighth birthday. He is a third grade student at Jones Paideia School and during a recent weekend, Robert again had the microphone in his hand saying grace for the Jack and Jill Nashville Chapter Family Day. Robert is the youngest of Dr. Brown’s four children and is on his way to being a voice of the community.
“Happy birthday Robert! We look forward to great things from you,” said his proud parents.
