The Education Equal Opportunity Group (EEOG), toasted to educating Tennessee youth, exposing students to endless possibilities and friends that offer their time and talent to inspire others.

The 4th annual Global Wine Tasting and Silent Auction was held on December 1 at Music City Dream Cars in the Gulch area of downtown Nashville. The showroom was filled with a vibrant and exciting crowd eager to support EEOG’s programs, all while having some fun.

Bubbling over with excitement, friends enjoyed exquisite wines, hors d’oeuvres, corporate networking, and an exciting silent auction benefiting the EEOG. Mouthwatering spirits where provided by wine broker, Stacey Diltz-Thomas of StaceyWines.Com, as guests explored fine wine from the distinctive regions of Italy, Japan, South Africa, Argentina, California/Napa Valley and Spain.

Latin superstar Luna Morena and her band performed her original and well-known songs in a unique style in English and Spanish. Her oldest brother, Gio Lamb, along with Stuart Montez, a Blues purist and a serious guitar enthusiast, composed the arrangements.

In addition, the event and friend-raiser was held in conjunction with Business Mogul Samuel (Sam) H. Howard, Chairman Phoenix Holdings, Inc., and author of The Flight of the Phoenix; Thoughts on Work and Life. The Flight of the Phoenix traces Howard’s journey from Oklahoma roots to influential business leader and depicts his battle to restore his good name and fortune.

Howard’s mother taught her son that a good name is better than riches. Howard took that teaching to heart as he rose to success, influence, and authority.

Over $3,000 was raised with the help of donors, attendees, and new friends of the Education Equal Opportunity Group. Founded in 2001, EEOG’s mission is providing inspiration and resources to students in need of life’s essentials in an effort to combat the unanticipated barriers that students face such as, academic, social and cultural, as well as their own internal self-doubt.

We exist to create positive pathways for low-income students to succeed. EEOG is fostering a society of constant learners and preparing individuals for the work force as well as improving their quality and understanding of life. EEOG is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the cultivating scholars and leaders.
