The SneakFest Sneaker Expo took place December 17 at the Fed Ex Forum at 191 Beale Street in Memphis, Tenn. 38103.

Sneakfest is a huge sneaker festival where not only could you get a rare pair of Jordans, but you could also bring your family along for a great outing.

Inspired by enthusiasts of fashion and footwear, SneakFest Sneaker Expo is a gathering of ‘sneakerheads’ and urban fashion connoisseurs alike in an environment of exchange. At SneakFest, vendors from around the United States had booths selling sneakers, clothing lines, accessories and much more.

“This is my first time at Sneakfest,” said India Martin. “I didn’t get any shoes but I did get some cool handmade hats from a guy selling them out of his backpack.”

Patrons were allowed to bring as many pairs of sneakers inside as they liked, as many as he or she could hold, in order to buy, sell, or trade among various vendors and among the crowd of participants.

Sneakfest brought out ‘sneakerheads’ from all ages, races, and backgrounds. People were hauling around luggage and show boxes filled with shoes. It showed how much sneakers have influenced cultures. A few hip-hop legends and also a few Memphis Grizzlies players were also in attendance.

Each year at Sneakfest, someone goes home with a trophy for the Best Kicks. This year’s ‘Best Kicks on Feet’ winner had everyone’s attention as soon as he walked through the door. This year’s winner was Zack Myers @zmyersofficial, and he was wearing the Macklemore 6s.

The founders of Sneakfest are Adam Ghueder, Jerry Khammavong, and Sherman Harper, Jr. Their goal is to bring a new and exciting event to multiple cities in the future. It was sponsored by BeU Clothing Company.

Sneakfest will be back again next year, but until then visit their website at
