When you provide love to the beast, you find the beauty. The month of February is the noted month that celebrates ‘love.’ For several nights in February, the Bordeaux community will be favored with an opportunity to show the love that this area offers. ‘Youth About Business’ will present the well-known Disney theatre performance, Beauty and the Beast at Manna From Heaven Dinner House (MFHDH), 3510 W. Hamilton Ave., with performances between Feb. 10-14.

Manna From Heaven, has held several spectacular theatre performances before, and the set for Beauty and the Beast will be one of their most massive constructions.

Under the direction of Bakari King, the performance will be just as large as the set, as he brings the Disney production to ‘the neighborhood.’ Lead actor Toussaint Jeanlouis from New York City will play ‘The Beast,’ and Melinda Paul from Nashville will play ‘Belle’ as they demonstrate the beauty that can truly be discovered when you love the beast.

“Amazing things happen when you show ‘love’ to the beast,” said Rev. Sam Kirk, founder of YAB and ‘The Manna.’ Kirk recognizes that the Bordeaux area is somewhat the ‘Beast’ of the Nashville community. So with an effort to change the personality of the area, several events have been held at MFHDH showing the actual beauty of the community. This theatrical performance of Beauty and the Beast is an opportunity for the Nashville community to ‘show love to the beast,’ by visiting the area and discovering something new through this modern day depiction of an old story.

There will be other related activities included with each production.

The production of Beauty and the Beast will begin Feb. 10 at 7:30 pm; Feb. 11 will feature two productions, a matinee at noon and 7:30 pm; Feb. 12 will host ‘Tea with Belle and The Beast’ from 1:30-2:30 pm (limited free tickets) with a show performance at 3:30 pm; Feb. 13 includes a book drive for a local charity with show time at 7:30 pm; and Feb. 14 includes ‘Dinner with the One You Love’ from 5-7 pm, with the performance at 7:30 pm.
