This event will serve as a direct effort to engage businesses in the BNA Vision, which includes a $1.2 billion dollar expansion. The Airport is proactively launching this initiative to search for SMWBE/MBE businesses who might gain business from the upcoming expansion of Nashville’s airport. They want to help you build the resources to grow, expand, and become business entities that are ready to take off.
MNAA’s Billion Dollar Network is a program created to celebrate the diversity of Nashville’s business community, ensure companies receive information on obtaining airport contracts, and provide opportunities to take your business to the next level during this expansion. Through this event series, they are developing networking and training opportunities for qualified vendors to submit for MNAA certification and participate in the BNA Vision, which includes a 1.5 billion dollar expansion.

The second installment of the Billion Dollar Network event series took place Thursday, January 12, 2017, at Gordon’s Bar and Grill. Program attendees had the opportunity to hear from Davita Taylor, MNAA’s Chief of Staff, Director of Business Diversity.
“The Airport is proactively launching this initiative to search for SMWBE/MBE businesses who might gain business from the upcoming expansion of Nashville’s airport,” said Taylor. “The event hopefully explained to attendees how to do business with the airport and how to prepare for this extraordinary opportunity. We are so excited to continue cultivating business through these events this year.”
The Billion Dollar Network event series began in November of 2016 and will continue through July of this year. Each event will focus on a different area of expertise and a key demographic.
“It was very exciting to partner with MNAA for this opportunity that was truly unique for small and minority business owners,” said Jerry Maynard. “It is vital for us to help small businesses in Nashville grow and expand, because they are the economic engine of the city. I see these events as a gateway for small business owners to get involved with the BNA Vision.”
A new Parking and Transportation Center at Nashville International Airport (BNA) recently broke ground, the first major project comprising BNA Vision. The six-level, 2,000 space parking structure will be located directly south of the current Short Term Garage. The first floor will be a dedicated Ground Transportation Center for commercial vehicles such as taxis, limos, shuttles and ride-sharing. Other new features include a parking space guidance system, green-screen vegetation wall, capacity for 20,000 gallons of rain water harvesting for landscape irrigation and a 50-kilowatt solar array on the top level. The Parking and Transportation Center is set to open summer 2018.
“Nashville International Airport is the gateway to our city for so many of our visitors, and it is important that we leave a great first impression,” said Mayor Megan Barry. “BNA Vision will create an even more enjoyable experience for travelers, while promoting sustainability and generating economic revenue in the process.”
In 2016, 12,979,803 passengers traveled into and out of BNA, an increase of more than 1.3 million passengers representing a robust 11 percent increase over the previous year, and setting a new all-time passenger record for the fourth consecutive calendar year. Current projections indicate passenger traffic at BNA will surpass 20 million by 2035.
In July 2016, MNAA announced BNA Vision, the Airport Authority’s dynamic growth and expansion plan for Nashville International Airport.
