The Psi Phi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta, Inc. sponsored its inaugural event, a brunch entitled ‘Men of Valor: Bold, Brave and Courageous,’ paying homage to seven outstanding men selected for major contributions to their respective communities on March 4 at the Edmondson Chapel Church.
The seven gentlemen honored included: Edward Earl Jordan, founder, president/CEO of Partners In the Struggle Organization; Dr. Shawn Joseph, director of Metro Nashville Public Schools; Donald Parham, ‘compliance, review and monitoring manager,’ Metropolitan Action Commission; Rev. Ron Parham, pastor, Edmondson Chapel Church; Bishop Fred Matthews II, founder and pastor of the Church of Jesus Christ; Bryan K. White, wrestling coach and author; and Emmanuel Rowe, Ph.D., Fisk-Vanderbilt Bridge Post-Doctorial Fellow.
The inaugural event was well attended and greatly enjoyed by its attendees. Keith Pitts was an outstanding speaker for the Men of Valor event. William T. Robinson, a community activist and youth advocate, served as emcee for this wonderful occasion.
William Banks, Black Sax, an accomplished musician, rendered outstanding, crowd-pleasing, musical selections.
