Kayne Avenue M.B.C. celebrates pastor’s first anniversary

The congregation at historic Kayne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church will be celebrating the first year anniversary of Rev. Harmon E. Stockdale, Jr. with a special series of services and events. A Mid-Week Service was held April 19 with guest speaker, Rev. Roosevelt Walker (Faith United MBC). A First-Lady’s Tea will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 10 am with guest speaker, Rev. The culminating services will be on Sunday, April 23 at 10 am with guest speaker, Rev. Dr. Harmon E. Stockdale, Sr. (Mt. Vernon MBC), with the 3 pm service featuring guest speaker, Rev. James McCarroll, Jr. (First Baptist Church, Murfreesboro). All events will be held at Kayne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church, located at 1025 12th Avenue South. The theme is ‘Rejoicing in the Lord for Answered Prayer.’

Rev. Harmon E. Stockdale, Jr. accepted his call into the gospel ministry in October 2013, and was licensed to preach by Rev. Dr. Harmon E. Stockdale, Sr. (his father), on November 29, 2013, under the authority of the Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist Church in Rochester, N.Y. In November 2014, Rev. Stockdale, Jr. was ordained into the ministry at the request of and by the authority of the Kayne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. He was installed as the new pastor of Kayne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church on Sunday, April 10, 2016.

Rev. Harmon Stockdale, Jr. continues to lead Kayne Avenue Missionary Baptist Church as a pillar in the community and as a place of foundation. He is the beloved husband of Jennifer Stockdale and a loving father to their three children: Jonnavon Earl, 11; Hanese Rosa-Evon, nine; and Harmonie Keziah-Theanie, two.
