Women from the community are invited to participate in Sisterhood Basic Training, a second annual Women’ Conference held on Saturday, June 11.
Registration will begin at 8:30 am along with a continental breakfast. The conference will begin at 9 am, and lunch will be served mid morning. The conference will be held at Spruce Street Baptist Church, 504 Spruce Street, under the leadership of Min. Angela Pulce-Reed, founder/CEO of ‘Daughters Arise – Awaken and Get Up,’ a non-profit ministry designed to promote universal sisterhood to women of every race, ethnicity and background.
“In our daily walk somebody is always getting a curve ball, a fast ball or just punched in the face and we want to encourage, edify, embrace and challenge people to be the best ‘them’ that they can be,” said Pulce-Reed. “This is not for the little girls, but for the big girls who are willing to be the change that they want to see.”
Feature sessions during the conference include: ‘You Can Have Peace in the Valley,’ facilitated by Min. Angela Pulce-Reed; ‘Our Commonalities Outweigh Our Petty Issues,’ facilitated by Min. Carla Foster; and ‘Sisters in Need of a Financial Plan,’ facilitated by Lisa Pendergrast-Cox, motivational speaker.
Also included in the conference will be keynote speakers, Rev. Pixie Smith-Duncan and Rev. Emily Shropshire.
