Tyrese Gibson returns as Robert Epps in Transformers The Last Knight.

Transformers: The Last Knight, in theaters now, is the last in the franchise to be directed by Michael Bay. The films are based on the Hasbro toy line. The Last Knight is the fifth live-action Transformers film and is a direct sequel to 2014’s Transformers: Age of Extinction. It was written by Ken Nolan, Matt Holloway, and Art Marcum, and directed by Michael Bay.

In the absence of Optimus Prime, war has commenced between the human race and the Transformers. To save the world, Cade Yeager, played by Mark Wahlberg, forms an alliance with Bumblebee, an astronomer, and an Oxford University professor to learn the secrets of why the Transformers keep coming back to Earth. Bumblebee is a young Autobot scout who transforms into a custom-built yellow and black 2016 Chevrolet Camaro.

Tyrese Gibson reprises his role as Robert Epps, a retired U.S. Air Force Sergeant who partnered with the Autobots prior to the events of Age of Extinction. Gibson was absent from that film, but returns to help try to save the world in this film.

Josh Duhamel plays William Lennox, a U.S. Army Ranger captain who partnered with the Autobots prior to the events of Age of Extinction, and now a colonel of the U.S. military and an unwilling member of the T.R.F. (Transformers Reaction Force), an organization whose purpose is to wipe out all Transformers on Earth, regardless of faction. Santiago Cabrera plays Santos, the commander of the T.R.F. Stanley Tucci plays Joshua Joyce, the former head of K.S.I., who created a series of human-made Transformers during the events of Age of Extinction. Anthony Hopkins plays Sir Edmund Burton, an astronomer and historian who knows about the history of the Transformers on Earth.

New to this film, Isabela Moner plays Izabella, a street-wise tomboy who was orphaned during the Chicago War in Dark of the Moon, with Sqweeks and Canopy as her only friends until meeting Cade. Stealing the show is Sqweeks, a small-sized Autobot and Izabella’s closest friend, who transforms into a turquoise Vespa and only says “Chihuahua” due to some prior damage.

Laura Haddock plays Viviane Wembly, a Professor of English Literature at the University of Oxford.

John Turturro plays Seymour Simmons, former government agent turned successful writer. Liam Garrigan plays King Arthur, and Jerrod Carmichael plays Jimmy. Glenn Morshower returns as General Morshower from Revenge of The Fallen and Dark of the Moon, and Nicola Peltz has a vocal cameo as Tessa Yeager, Cade’s daughter who helped the Autobots during the events of Age of Extinction.

Peter Cullen voices Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots. John Goodman voices Hound, an Autobot commando and field medic who transforms into an olive green Mercedes-Benz Unimog military tactical ambulance.

Megatron is the revived leader of the Decepticons who possessed a human-made K.S.I. drone in Age of Extinction and transforms into a silver Cybertronian jet. Dragonstorm is a mechanical three-headed dragon who is the combination of two Knights of Cybertron, Dragonicus and Stormreign. Steelbane is a Cybertronian knight who transforms into a mechanical wyvern. Mark Ryan and Reno Wilson also return to do voices for The Last Knight.

And, there are many other transformers! The film, rated PG-13 for violence and intense sequences of sci-fi action, language, and some innuendo was released on June 21, 2017 by Paramount Pictures in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D.
