Ignite Her Pursuit is a non-profit organization based in Nashville, Tenn. and currently serves Music City and surrounding areas. Minister in Training Jasmine DeJean is the esteemed founder and president of the Nashville based ‘Ignite Her Pursuit Women’s Ministry.’ DeJean is also a proud member of the Zeta Phi Beta, Inc. sorority; worships at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Nashville (presiding Bishop Joseph Warren Walker III); and is an invested, giving member of the community.
‘Ignite’ is a ministry tempered in love, the peace of God’s word and the passion of faith. It was birthed out of a need in the Body of Christ for a space where women from different walks of life could come together to heal, empower each other, get connected, and grow in Christ while serving their community with their unique set of gifts and talents.
The ministry has a five-point program thrust which focuses on educational development (Biblical literacy); empowerment; fellowship; discipleship; and outreach. The ministry goal is to empower women to be the best versions of themselves while serving their communities. It’s believed that when women are affirmed and empowered they are able to serve fearlessly.
On Saturday, July 15, the ministry will host a powerful one-day event titled ‘Women’s Real Talk Empowerment Conference: Living a Transformed Life.’ The dynamic guest speaker line up consists of Elder Paula Farmer; Psalmist Ebonaye Dillard; and Elder Regina Walker. Women from all walks of life, religious faith and economic status are welcomed to attend. It’s a no barrier ministry without respecter of any individuals or beliefs.
The event will take place at the Una Baptist Church, 1931 Murfreesboro Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37217. Attendees are asked to use the rear entrance of the church, and there will be plenty of parking spaces for those who drive in. Tickets are available via Eventbrite or by contacting Ignite Her Pursuit.
DeJean’s clear goal is to uplift, empower and enhance every woman in attendance. Nothing in life is a quick fix or a cure-all to handle every trial, problem and tribulation. DeJean and her talented crew are excited about the projected direction of the ministry and the various forthcoming events and trainings.
Busy in purpose and on a clear mission, DeJean keeps God at the head of her life at all times—but still finds time to express her joy and appreciation for his grace, by forging ahead. At press time she noted that a strong, well-rounded mentoring program for girls was in the mix and almost ready to be unveiled. No date is set at this time, and clearly her time and energy is going into the day conference and overall ministry.
“Albert Schweitzer, the German theologian, said: ‘In everyone’s life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.’ Ignite Her Pursuit strives to be that ‘firestarter,’” said DeJean.
