The blockbuster all-star movie Girls Trip was recently released nationwide and the Nashville Chapter of the amazing sisterhood movement called Power to Exhale (P2E) showed up and showed out in full force. Translation: each of the women in attendance had an awesome time together, shared hugs, and laughs. Friendship exchanges between the established and new members were infused with loving support.

The organization is a dynamic international sisterhood movement founded by CEO and visionary Charla Young. Membership is free of charge and if there is not a chapter in the same city the potential member lives in, there is one nearby. A combination of established and new P2E sisters filled three rows of seats. The movie ticket proved to be well worth the ticket cost, but the myriad of women and the joy they shared, was priceless.

Nashville Chapter Power Diva’s Jackie Stewart and Kamara Glenn (group leaders) organized a group photo after the movies. Lunch at Longhorn restaurant played out like a loving family reunion.

The five star movie cast included top names: Regina Hall, Queen Latifah, Tiffany Haddish, Jada Pinkett Smith, Larenz Tate and Mike Colter. Other cast members included: R&B recording artists Maxwell, NEO, Mariah Carey and Shawn P-Diddy Combs.

A summary of the film includes a well-planned plot that follows the story of four lifelong girl friends on a long-overdue weekend getaway trip to New Orleans for the annual Essence Music Festival.

They call themselves the ‘Flossy Posse.’ Their sisterhood is rekindled and wild sides are rediscovered. Add nights of partying, hook-ups and bad decisions, as well as raw and vulnerable moments that strengthen their bond.

To save time, most of the P2E ladies pre-purchased their movie tickets online via Fandango and a few suggested Groupon.com. Either way, the movie was worth the trip. The P2E experience is open to millennial’s and women of all ages, anywhere in the world.
