The Inaugural #Beautynic Packed Centennial Park

As we welcome the fall season in and change out our clothes to appropriate the season, we look back fondly on great summer memories. The July 30th Inaugural #BeautyNIC event certainly made Nashville even prouder. Visionary Tanya Davis and her IJGMHD (I Just Got My Hair Did) 92Q radio colleagues, Yolanda “Yolo-B” Beech and Chris Bond even received a proclamation for the launch. State Representative Brenda Gilmore presented the honors and deemed #BeautyNIC Day a special day, for good, safe, clean family oriented fun.

There was something for everyone, adults and children alike. Including an assortment of vendors, Food Trucks, a Car Show, a bike show and some of the best entertainment in the Mid-South. It was an amazing cornucopia of; Gospel, Jazz, Rhythm & Blues, “Rappino”, talented Musicians, Spoken Word Dance and more. Organizers noted that this was a festive day of rest, appreciation for beauty industry professionals and their supporters.

The grateful crowd didn’t seem to mind the sweltering heat and the team was even prepared for that. Plenty of ice cold bottles of water and hard candies were provided for the crowd’s dry mouths and to quench their thirsts. Even with the food trucks and food vendors, the bring your own food option was always available. Every in attendance took advantage of the beautiful day. Including Victor Chatman, award winning personality , DJ extroidenaire and music master producer for the event.

Some relaxed or cheered others on from the sidelines of a potato sack race or other games. Easy access and a myriad of free parking and the comfort of a loving Metro Police presence, added to the icing on the proverbial cake. The Inaugural #BeautyNIC 2017 is and will remain one of Music City USA’s most memorable, productive and happiest days of the year. Rumor has it that plans are already underway for #BeautyNIC 2018.
