NPT’s Victoria Season Two Preview Screening and Victorian Celebration
Nashville Public Television is hosting an advance screening of the premiere episode of Season Two of Victoria on MASTERPIECE, the highly praised drama series starring Jenna Coleman in the title role about the epic life of Queen Victoria.
NPT’s Victoria Preview & Celebration will take place 6 – 8 p.m. on Dec. 10, 2017, at the Franklin Theatre in downtown Franklin. The event includes a reception, a talk by “Tastes & Traditions” expert and “Master Foodie” Mara Papatheodorou, and a screening of the first hour of the Season 2 premiere. Guests are encouraged to come dressed in festive Victorian attire. Victoria on Masterpiece is the story of the early years of the queen’s epic reign. Open to the public; RSVP required; tickets are $60.00 per person, with proceeds to benefit NPT, available through the WNPT website.
The two-hour Victoria on Masterpiece season two premiere is 8 p.m., Jan. 14, 2018, and the season continues through Feb. 25, 2018. NPT will be airing every episode from all season one of Victoria on MASTERPIECE, starting at 8:00 pm on Dec. 17 and airing each Sunday night through January 7, 2018, in HD.

Darlene Love headlines the band Human Nature on Human Nature: Jukebox In Concert from the Venetian,Sunday, December 3 at 10:30 pm. Travel in a time machine of 50s and 60s hits with this vibrant and dynamic musical foursome. Joined by special guest Darlene Love, a seven-piece band and world-class dancers, the group celebrates a mix of pop, doo-wop, bandstand and soul standards.
Cab Calloway is featured on The Big Band Years at 9:00 pm, December 9.
John Legend is Live from the Artists’ Den at 11:00 pm on Friday, December 15. John Legend celebrates the release of his new album, Darkness and Light, with an unforgettable performance at Manhattan’s historic Riverside Church. From the same pulpit where, 50 years earlier, Martin Luther King, Jr., delivered an electrifying “Beyond Vietnam: A Time to Break Silence” speech, Legend presents a magnificent set of brand new songs (many being played for the first time ever onstage), alongside such classics as “All Of Me” and “Glory,” offering messages of love and hope in a spectacular setting that has been associated with progressive activism for almost a century.
The Neville Brothers will be Inductees on the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame special on New Year’s Eve, from 9:00 – 10:30 pm on December 31. Enjoy the 2017 Austin City Limits special as Roy Orbison, Rosanne Cash and the Neville Brothers are inducted into the Hall of Fame. Performers include Neko Case, Brandi Carlile, Trombone Shorty, Raul Malo, Ry Cooder and more; Chris Isaak hosts.
In the New Year, catch rapper Kendrick Lamar on Austin City Limits on January 3 at 11:00 pm.
