For the past five years, two nonprofit organizations from Music City have partnered together to ensure everyone enjoys the Christmas Season. This year is no different. The City of Life Community Development Center (CDC) and Cathedral of Praise Church sponsored their annual toy drive giveaway on December 19.

With donations garnered from City of Life board members, private donors, family and friends, the organizations provided gifts to approximately 153 children this Christmas season. Serving children from infant to age 17, this program gives right back to residents within the Davidson County.

“Cathedral of Praise and City of Life CDC have sponsored the toy drive and give -away for the past 5 years,” said Misha Maynard, Executive Director for City of Life. “This is a community wide endeavor.”

Members within the organizations partner with local schools to recruit the program recipients.

Participants receive coats, toys, bikes and more. Organizers of the event were Jeanie Hughley and Tasha Cartwright.

Over the years, the program has also received assistance from the United States Marine Corps, Toys for Tots, and other organizations. Spear-headed by Cathedral of Praise Church (pastor, Bishop Jerry L. Maynard), these initiatives are a reminder that the greatest gift of all comes from above.
