‘Sean Lee and castmates prepare to perform in Hamilton on March 5 2017 in Chicago.

The Tennessee Performing Arts Center has announced the eight Broadway titles in its upcoming 2018-19 HCA/TriStar Health Broadway at TPAC series, as well as several special engagements. In a dynamic presentation to season ticket holders, group leaders, special guests, and media, TPAC President/CEO Kathleen O’Brien unveiled the eight-show Broadway season package, along with the four special featured Broadway add-on productions.

But the big news of the night was the announcement that the blockbuster musical sensation Hamilton will finally be coming to the Music City, during the 2019-20 season. The news came during a special video message by Belmont University alumnus Chris De’Sean Lee, who has performed the roles of Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson in both the Chicago and touring productions of Hamilton.

The best way to guarantee tickets to Hamilton is to purchase a season subscription for the 2018-19 season. Season ticket holders who renew their subscription for the 2018-19 season will guarantee their tickets for the Nashville engagement of Hamilton before tickets become available to the general public. Information regarding engagement dates and how to purchase groups and single tickets will be announced later.

“We know all of middle Tennessee has had its eyes on Nashville for some time waiting for news on Hamilton’s engagement, and we’re so excited to share that it will be a part of our 2019-20 Broadway season,” said O’Brien.

Hamilton is the story of America’s Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, an immigrant from the West Indies who became George Washington’s right-hand man during the Revolutionary War and was the new nations’s first Treasury Secretary. Featuring a score that blends hip-hop, jazz, blues, rap, R&B, and Broadway, Hamilton is the story of America then, as told by America now.

With something for everyone, TPAC’s 2018-19 Broadway season includes five new productions that will make their Nashville debut, including School of Rock, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new high-octane musical comedy based on the popular hit film, September 11-16, 2018; The Play That Goes Wrong, Broadway and London’s award-winning smash comedy, October 9-14, 2018; On Your Feet!, the inspiring true story of Emilio and Gloria Estefan, January 15-20, 2019; A Bronx Tale, Broadway’s hit crowd pleaser based on Academy Award nominee Chazz Palmiteri’s story, February 12-17, 2019; and Anastasia, the dazzling hit musical about a legendary young woman searching for her place in the world, March 19-24, 2019.

Adding to the powerful line-up are three classic Broadway revivals, featuring the Tony-Award winning Best Musical revival Hello, Dolly! starring Broadway legend Betty Buckley, April 30-May 5, 2019; along with the acclaimed new production of the legendary musical Miss Saigon, June 4-9, 2019; and the fresh, funny reimagining of The Fiddler on the Roof, June 25-30, 2019.

TPAC will also present The Book of Mormon, March 12-17, 2019; Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, November 13-18, 2018; Rock of Ages, April 12-13, 2019; and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera, October 24 – November 4, 2018.
