Summer NAMM show opens to the public on June 30

A new one-day “festival” of music gear and pro audio products will take place during Summer NAMM in Nashville on Saturday, June 30 at Music City Center. Summer NAMM will host the inaugural Make Music Experience, an all-day, all-access pass for consumer and prosumer audiences who want to demo the latest music and pro audio gear, meet with top manufacturers, and explore career-enhancing education and networking opportunities with the music industry’s top insiders.

The Make Music Experience (MME) invites musicians, songwriters, music educators and students, as well as sound and studio professionals to experience the members-only Summer NAMM show, the annual mid-year gathering of the music products and pro audio industry, which runs June 28 – 30 in Nashville. NAMM will open the trade-only event for MME’s full itinerary of professional workshops, opportunities to see and demo the latest in new gear from leading music brands, and live performances and events connecting music-makers of all skill levels.

Emerging and established music pros seeking a jump-start to their careers can participate in NAMM Idea Center educational sessions and panels curated to enhance careers of artists, musicians, songwriters, and producers. Industry experts thought leaders and Nashville personalities will cover many topics. Attendees can interact with the world’s most established and successful brands and demo new products. The NAMM Terrace Stage will provide live music all day from the region’s hottest talent in multiple genres. Expanded lounges and food areas make it easy to grab a drink and connect with old friends or create new business contacts.

Tickets to the Make Music Experience are $10 online at the NAMM website, and will $20 at the door. Hours are 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The line up of sessions, speakers, artist performances and more is on the NAMM website.

The Women’s International Music Network (WiMN) 2018 Nashville She Rocks Summer Showcase are Wednesday, June 27, from 8:30 – 10:30 p.m. at The Listening Room Café’s new location at 618 4th Ave S, during Summer NAMM. This year’s performers include alt-pop singer-songwriter Megan Davies; “The Voice” alum Gigi Rich; classically trained singer-songwriter Karina Daza; and L.A.-based duo Roses & Cigarettes. There is a suggested donation of $5 online pre-sale or $7 on site.

The National Music Council will honor jazz legends Chick Corea and The Manhattan Transfer at their 35th annual American Eagle Awards Thursday, June 28 at Summer NAMM. The honors recognize long-term contributions to American musical culture and heritage, the importance of music education and inspiration for all children, and the need to protect creators’ rights both locally and globally.
