After years of planning and anticipation, the Urban League Young Professionals of Middle Tennessee (ULYPMT) and The Urban Enterprise Group (UEG’) are having the Grand Opening of their Urban Strength Gym, located at 1034 – 3rd Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37210. The event is Saturday, June 23, 2018, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Urban Strength is a unique fitness gym with a strong focus on providing distinctive and effective fitness/wellness enhancements in a popular urban culture atmosphere. As a first class and modern fitness center, Urban Strength is designed to deliver the highest levels of attractive workout classes and personalized services to its members.

This gym is funded and owned by the members of ULYPMT and members of the community, who have pooled their resources together through their group economic model to fund the opening of the gym. ULYPMT and UEG’s mission is to advance the economic standing of all who take part by providing high quality and socially responsible businesses to the community.

Urban Strength Gym provides its members with highly innovative and popular workout classes based on urban and popular culture. From groups to individual training, Urban Strength is geared to accommodate all fitness enthusiasts from beginners to professionals.

Urban Strength Kick Box & Trap Fitness Gym combines music, fitness, and culture. Come out and partake in a free class, socialize, and see their new facility at Grand Opening or thereafter. Offerings include Trap Bootcamp, Kick Boxing, and Dance Cardio.

Their Trap Boot Camp is a group exercise class that mixes traditional calisthenics and body weight exercise with interval training and strength training. This class is designed in a way that pushes you harder than you might push yourself, and in that way resembles a military boot camp. Don’t worry, they say, they’ll keep you motivated with the ‘organized noise of the trap!’ Go from The Rozay (beginner) to The HOV (advanced).

Their Dance Cardio class is a rigorous interval training sequence with high-intensity exercises. It builds cardiovascular fitness while improving muscular strength and endurance. The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training, pole fitness, with a combination of fast and slow dance moves that tone and sculpt the body to the sounds that revolutionized women in hip-hop and pop culture. Go from The Riri (beginner) to The Bey (advanced).

Their Cardio Kick Boxing is a group fitness class that combines martial arts techniques with fast-paced cardio to the backdrop of urban culture.

This high-energy workout challenges the beginner and elite athlete alike, builds stamina, improves coordination and flexibility, and burns calories as you build lean muscle and challenge the beast inside you. Go from The DMC (beginner) to the NWA (advanced).

The ULYPMT is an auxiliary unit of the Urban League of Middle Tennessee (ULMT) comprised of talented locals between the ages of 21 to 40.
