This week, the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) celebrated its employees with their annual service appreciation week.

According to Sheriff Daron Hall: “It’s when we stop and say ‘thank you’ to our staff who are the unsung heroes of the criminal justice system. So much of what they do is behind the walls of our facilities and often forgotten.”

One of the highlights of the week was a health fair Tuesday with hundreds of door prizes, free health screenings, and a cooking demonstration that featured Food Network star and local restaurateur Chef Maneet Chauhan.

“Amazin’ morning with @FoodNetwork celebrity Chef @ManeetChauhan! Chef donated her time and energy this morning to the @NashSheriff employee Health Fair and even tried to show me a thing or two in the Kitchen!” tweeted Sheriff Hall after the event.

The weeklong event culminated with the 24th annual Service Awards Dinner on Thursday evening.
