Jefferson Street will be jumping on Saturday, August 24

Visit the Jefferson Street Sound Museum during JSAC or anytime.

With the art crawl and J Street Live! The place to be Saturday, August 24 is Nashville’s historic Jefferson Street.

J Street Live! A Renaissance of Jefferson Street’s Rich Musical History takes off at 7 p.m. at 624 Jefferson Street, known as Events at 624. Jefferson Street is the heart of Music City, influencing music and culture for centuries. Now J Street is seeing a revival as J Street Live! creates a musical experience that honors its iconic past with an eye towards the future. J Street has played host and home for musical greats including Prince, Marion James (Queen of the Blues), James Brown, Ray Charles, Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Music Row’s Jesse Boyce, and so many others, including the group that put Nashville on the world stage, The Fisk Jubilee Singers. Become part of this renaissance as a partner in this new monthly music series that will have music fans making a B-line to J Street.

“It is important that I give back to the community that helped make me who I am, who we all are in Nashville,” says CEO Joshua Mundy. “We as a community have overcome pain and found progress through our musical expressions that have united us, not only through years or decades, but centuries. We cannot and will not let the legacy of J Street fade into history. This is our J street.”

J Street Live! is a labor of love for Mundy. The Nashville-native has owned and operated businesses along J Street for 11 years including Music City Cleaners, The Lab Nashville(a collaborative co-working space), and the stunning venue Events at 624. Mundy is also the organizer of the hugely successful official Welcome To Nashville Weekend. With the help of partners like you, J Street Live! will become a premiere event in Music City. Jefferson Street Art Crawl
This month’s iteration of the Jefferson Street Art Crawl (JSAC) will be hosted by One Drop Ink, Garden Brunch Café, Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center, and Jefferson Street Sound Museum.

One Drop Ink will feature art from the world of Megan Kelly. Come get hands-on with Megan, who will transport you to the Inbound Lands — a fully interactive game that blends fine art with place-making, gaming and tinkering to create something really unique. There will be live music by The Orb in The Honeycomb Lounge, along with more vendors and food trucks.

Matthew Walker Comprehensive Health Center, located at 1035 14th Ave. No., just off Jefferson Street, will be participating once again. This month’s installment of the art crawl will feature artwork on display from Brandon Van Leer.

Jefferson Street Sound Museum, located at 2004 Jefferson St., across from Citizen’s Bank, is a hidden gem and features a wealth of knowledge on Jefferson Street’s amazing musical heritage.

What to expect there during the JSAC: Jazz sounds, Visual Works, Wine Bar (21+ must have ID), and Jazz & Blues stories told by Lorenzo Washington.
