Nashville and Davidson County Assessor of Property Vivian Wilhoite is extending the period of time her office will be closed to “walk-in” constituency services until May 29, 2020. The May 29 date extends the previous date of reopening from May 1.
Assessor Wilhoite encourages constituents to continue to leave messages on the office voice mail and send emails, both of which are checked and responded to daily by office staff. Assessor Wilhoite and staff have and will continue to respond as quickly as possible to inquiries made to the Office of Assessments through the following channels:

Assessor Wilhoite is also notifying property owners that requests to file formal appeals with the independent Metropolitan Board of Equalization (MBOE) will begin May 20. Property owners or their representatives will be able to request a date for a formal appeal hearing with the MBOE or an MBOE hearing officer via a dedicated phone line which will be announced before May 20. That announcement will also spell out options for property owners seeking an appeal.
“As we continue working to keep our community and staff safe as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we will continue to process daily inquiries from property owners, provide information regarding the upcoming MBOE appeals process and work to meet critical statutory deadlines while working to re-open safely,” said Assessor Wilhoite.
