In order to be a mighty vessel that God can use, you first must be born again. You must be sure of your salvation then other things will follow. After your salvation you must stay away from sin and from worldly lusts and works of the flesh. Set your mind on the things of God. For those who live for worldly enticements will not inherit the kingdom of God. Do not backslide once you have accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and savior.
Everyone can be used as a vessel for God, but it’s up to you how you want to be used. God has equipped each and every one with various gifts. If you do not know what your gift is, just ask him and he will reveal it to you. Some of us are gifted teachers, preachers, evangelists, encouragers, and givers. Whatever gift you may have, use it to glorify God and to help someone.
Ephesians 4:12 says that gifts are given to the church to unite it and to remind us that we are dependent on each other and to glorify God through them. The different gifts draw us together and we are forced to depend on each other. God also gives spiritual gifts so that we can reveal the living God to unbelievers (1 Corinthians14:1). The gifts are also given to manifest Gods’ presence in the body of Christ on earth (1 Corinthians 12:7).
A good beginning point is to activate the fruits of the spirits in your life. Activate love, peace, longsuffering, kindness, self-control, goodness and meekness. Follow the rule to treat others the way that you would like to be treated. Live a life of purpose and know what you are living for. Have a vision and clear direction of where you are going or want your life to be.
Fellowship with God is vital in order to be a vessel that he can use. You have to stay in the word daily, study and ponder the scriptures. Make praying and fellow shipping with God a priority. Attending church regularly is important because fellow shipping with other believers will help to strengthen your faith in God and in his word. A true reverence and respect for God is also important if you want to grow in your knowledge of God and his word.
Begin doing what you can do to help others in need. You will not know what you can do until you begin doing it. Do what you know and love to do best. Do what you are passionate about. If you don’t love what you are doing, then give it up. If something is too difficult, persevere and do not quit. Life will present many opportunities, but it will take self-confidence and perseverance to make those opportunities a reality. Stay focused and avoid distractions. Be determined and committed to God, and you will succeed and reach your goal.
