Each year, the Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training program culminates with the Periscope Pitch + Artist Entrepreneur Showcase, where the talented arts entrepreneurs of the Arts & Business Council program put their training to the test as they take the stage to pitch their arts businesses to the community. Throughout the evening, Periscope artists will share about their artistic work, business models and key needs. An all-star panel of judges will provide insights along the way, and attendees can participate in live voting to help determine which artists will walk away with cash prizes

Come see this year’s class of Periscope artist entrepreneurs showcase their work, unveil their creative business plans to the public, and share how you can support their entrepreneurial dreams. Periscope Pitch + Artist Entrepreneur Showcase highlights the business acumen, innovative spirit, and artistic prowess of local artists, makers, and entrepreneurs across an array of artistic disciplines including music, dance, film/tv, literary arts, photography, painting, sculpture and more!

The evening begins with the Artist Entrepreneur Showcase from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Mix and mingle with the 24 artists as you peruse booths highlighting the businesses they’ve developed this year. You’ll experience new art, hear inspiring music, watch compelling videos, and learn about the talented artist entrepreneurs in Periscope 2021.

At 7:00 p.m., the Periscope Pitch begins when the eight finalists pitch their creative businesses live on stage. Selected through two preliminary rounds over the summer, these artists secured their opportunity to win cash and prizes. The program ends with a graduation and award presentation ceremony announcing the winners of the Fifth Third Bank Excellence in Entrepreneurship Award, Piedmont Natural Gas Foundation Pitch Perfect Award, Core Development Community Choice Award, and Southwest Airlines Best In Showcase Award.

The Periscope Pitch + Artist Entrepreneur Showcase is the culmination of the Arts & Business Council’s Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training program. Don’t miss your chance to glimpse what the future holds for Nashville’s creative community. Periscope is a year-long intensive training opportunity that empowers working artists to see their creative practice through an entrepreneurial lens.

Led by expert advisors from the Nashville Entrepreneur Center, along with break-out sessions facilitated with Nashville’s top arts professionals, Periscope is designed to be a transformative experience for each artist, sparking the moment when their career will really start to take off.

Periscope provides Training: 8 weeks of professional development training for working artists; Exchange: Artists share best practices with interdisciplinary peers through small group work; Mentorship: Each artist is paired one-on-one with a high-caliber mentor; and Exposure: Year-round opportunities to celebrate the work of alumni artists, plus red-letter visibility at the culminating celebration, the Periscope Pitch + Artist Entrepreneur Showcase.
